The Higgs boson is perhaps better known by its nickname: the “God particle.” Discovery of God Particle is the major breakthrough in the field of nuclear physics. The Higgs boson, or “God particle,” is believed to be the particle which gives mass to matter. The Higgs boson explains why particles have mass — and in turn why we exist. Without the boson, the universe would have no physical matter, only energy.
The Higgs boson is named after Peter Higgs, who, along with two other teams, proposed the mechanism that suggested such a particle in 1964. The search for God Particle only began in earnest in the 1980s.And on Wednesday, 4 July 2012, in Geneva, Switzerland, scientists working at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), announced that they have found the elusive Higgs boson particles, which is sometimes known as God Particles.
This Infographic on “Discovery of GOD PARTICLE – At A Glance” designed by InfoGraphic Design Team will provide an illustration on “What is God Particle” and the various facts regarding its discovery.
